Through its involvement in the CEN/eBES WS and in the UN/CEFACT Forum, eEG7 is fully committed to the standardisation process for global insurance business.

CEN/TC 445 - Digital Information Interchange in the Insurance Industry

On 12 January 2016 the inaugural meeting of the European standards committee CEN/TC 445 - Digital Information Interchange in the Insurance Industry - took place in Berlin. The European standards organisation CEN extends with the TC 445 its standards sphere to foster digitalisation and automated business transactions in the scope of insurance contract administration and claims handling.

At the first meeting delegates participated from the countries Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and United Kingdom as well as from BIPAR, the European Federation of Insurance Intermediaries. Additionally Austria, Bulgaria, Norway, Spain and Switzerland announced their interest.

Dr. Manuel Reimer, Managing Director of V-D-V and Vice-President of the German insurance standards organisation BiPRO, was elected as chair of the CEN/TC 445. The secretariat is organised by the German standards institute DIN.
